The Prime Minister of Dominica, Honourable Mr. Roosevelt Skerrit, announced, during the annual Dominica Goverment Budget Address, that the requirements for the Citizenship by Investment Program will not increase. The minimum for a single applicant in donation to the National Development Fund (NDF) will remain at $100,000. So far Dominica will still have its privileged position as the most cost-efficient economic citizenship program and at the top of the investors’ lists with $200,000 of investment in real estate.
Honnourable Mr. Skerrit reveal that the Citizenship by Investment Program has managed to raise more than $200 million in Foreign Direct Investment. The funds channeled through the NDF have been of vital importance to the country and have to a great extent facilitated the recovery after the tropical storm Erika of August 2015, leaving devastation in the country.
For Dominica Citizenship is one of the most sought after programs due to the lower cost, and the added benefits such as: visa-free travel to more than 90 countries, and no restrictions on various nationalities. The country is expected to benefit immensely, similar to the program of St. Kitts & Nevis benefits since 2009.
